i dont think its all talk, these are smart people that have been in ai since the 2000s, and they raise good points. current incentive structures are very dangerous long term
they too have every incentive to exaggerate because they are selling safety and/or books on the topic. I donโt believe we wonโt see it coming. Any issues that will manifest will be very visible and weโll have plenty of time to mitigate their impact.
they could be making a lot more money by just working at ai firms i fear. the thing that got me worried the hacking incidents lately, huggingface etc.
if the capabilities consistently outspeed the development of safety measures, and if the private arms race logic continues, i dont think this is a good spot to be in long term

My past 3 projects went viral. I didnโt write a single line of code in any of them. But I still feel I engineered them. There were a few people that noticed but the majority didnโt see an issue.
You're fortunate in that you've genuinely captured something that people clearly want with
textlog. No one wants another static site generator or coding harness. Ideas that resonate are pretty few and far between now.Nice! Was an opportunity to install F droid also, didnโt know it can be installed like a normal app, I was under the impression it was an OS replacement. Man, I LOVE naps! In fact, I mostly subsist on four or five 1-1/2 hour naps each day instead of one long over-night sleep period these days. I didn't set out to have a sleep schedule, but here I am. :-)
