It seems I can post in Chinese. Because I don't have an ID card, I can't have a phone number, and therefore can't register a stable email address, which means I can't register on content platforms or publish content. Hotmail frequently blocks my email account because I don't have a stable IP address, so my Mastodon account can't be used long-term. I hope this is a place where I can publish content consistently.

they too have every incentive to exaggerate because they are selling safety and/or books on the topic. I donโ€™t believe we wonโ€™t see it coming. Any issues that will manifest will be very visible and weโ€™ll have plenty of time to mitigate their impact.

they could be making a lot more money by just working at ai firms i fear. the thing that got me worried the hacking incidents lately, huggingface etc. if the capabilities consistently outspeed the development of safety measures, and if the private arms race logic continues, i dont think this is a good spot to be in long term

Whatโ€™s the difference between a script-kiddy and a real #developernotesfollow? Abstraction. You can program your whole life without learning how to meaningfully abstract problems into simpler pieces that TRULY make the problem easier to understand. Iโ€™m not talking about design patterns or #OOPnotesfollow vs #FPnotesfollow. These tools can help. But to really simplify something for others, you need an intellectual empathy that many simply never figure out.
Bad people are working together to enrich themselves and slave others into rat races. Good people need to start working together too.

"we need the majority to join" - this is a very interesting point; actually we only need 3,5% ๐Ÿ‘Œ Erica Chenoweth from Harvard found this from their research with Maria J. Deterministic code generation is fine by me. Quite happy to use templating systems for example. Problems occur when randomness is introduced. If you can avoid that it should be less "icky".

I knew token-based was more expensive but didnโ€™t imagine that much. Which is why u canโ€™t compete making alternative coding agents, their own subscriptions are much cheaper, but why they do it on their own Teams package is weird. Maybe targetting companies they feel they can pay.
