After months of hardly any rain, I’m really enjoying a cozy day stuck indoors just listening to the downpour; getting on with doing some house cleaning. Is it too premature to declare this autumn⁇

I needed to process 20,000 json files & 20,000 JXL files. I'm pulling together a website from them all. Anyway, started with emacs elisp to handle it all, just because I've not done that before. Went kinda ok, and I'm gonna use org-mode to export it all to a website (done that bit loads of times before).
In the end, I ended up breaking out my C programming skills (late 80s->nowish). It was a delight. Nothing more refreshing than writing raw code, that doesn't rely on 3rd party code/libs.
I was curious of testing the Omarchy distribution this week just because I had some free time to work on it. I saw a lot of hate around it and kind of get the point but so far at least for what I have been doing it wasn't terrible (at least at the point of writing this) although I am not trying to convince anybody to use it. But it just remember me how much do I hate MS.
Having spent the last 12 months using HTMX in $day_job, after 5 years with react, I have come to the opinion that whilst large amounts of JS and CSS are not necessarily wrong, they should be reserved for progressively extending the platform with a composable set of generic UI primitives that build out a cohesive design language — encoding business logic (including routing) there is generally a mistake
I’m using textlog to explore the intersection of and tech, with the goal of building an app that solves a problem in this space. Named , it's word represented as a hex color.
Of all the words there, it is a cocoa-ish color and is an appropriate name for this idea.
Many leaders acquire authority through ambition and manipulation. I’m not referring to them.
But a test of leadership for those who acquire authority organically, with the will of those being led, is to maintain the zeal and principles which put you into that position, after you encounter the machinery designed to exhaust, exasperate, deter, and demoralize.
