Yea, aside from the money, sourcing is a big problem, one thing I noticed when trying to #vegannotesfollow at some point was that there are zero vegan snacks in ordinary neighbourhood stores, so that #experimentnotesfollow didnโt last very long.
This is a very silly thing to be doing in 2026, but I finally tried some Quake 1 recently. Pretty cool, it's amazing how much it really does just end up feeling like Doom in 3D.
Since I played both Doom and Quake 2 back in the day, it does feel like I've finally bridged that gap, to where I think I understand what people mean when they talk about Romero's influence in the design.
Another thing I think it makes really clear is just how much room-over-room changes the way the game spaces feel, even if no one's actively thinking about that while they play.
WezTerm. Completely replaced my usage of Tmux, Zellij and the like. Having the multiplexer (both local and remote) built into the terminal emulator itself is such a win.
Unfortunately no. Just starting it. Got the proof of concept loading a dir with its sub-dirs then rendering on the GPU in textures silky smooth. 1.7mb executable, but will need to level up to SDL and that will double the size I think.

I agree. It is #zilchnotesfollow for now. Will do better next time, but in my defence the text above the text box (when writing a new message, not a reply) says โWhatโs on your mindโ. :-P
Why do so many tools have JSON config filesโฝ Commenting why options have been set the way they have is just such a basic thing to want to doโฆ Why do tech people have such an aversion to writing things downโ
TOML is a better format for configuration files IMO, if not for many reasons, primarily because TOML accepts comments.
However, one annoying thing for TOML was the lack of schema, and the reliance on JSON Schema for that. Which I decided to tackle years ago when I started the TOML Schema project. In the past few months I leveraged code agents to take to the finish line and got something compelling: tomlschema.org
Thatโs really cool. I suppose it would allow people to verify their config file is valid without having to pass it to in the intended program, which might be running in production or infeasible to run locally โ very interesting
Exactly! The schema also enables tools to have rich editors to config files without having to know about the config file format upfront. There is an editor for TOML Schema as an example, on the website.
I don't know:
They should be using YAML:

Which Linux distribution do you like the most, and why? Follow the previous with your favourite desktop environment.
In my storm and stress phase, I tried many things, but nowadays I tend to choose boring technology when it comes to work, for me that is Ubuntu or Debian with XFCE4 Desktop.
On my personal System I currently run Omarchy though.
Arch, because I feel you cannot use Linux without knowing how it works, and sway for window manager because it is highly stable, wholly keyboard driven, and tiling
Ubuntu or Linux Mint with Cinnamon and i3 alternating as window managers here

Solus with Xfce
Very stable independent rolling release with a small but highly dedicated community. Has everything I need in their repos. Xfce is my comfort DE and efficient.
I just took a look on it yesterday and seems like the stimulant effect is there, so seems like at this point there are mix results on if it actually helps with anxiety and sleep issues. For me personally seems to work just fine but Im not 100% sure how much does it actually does something for me or is just a placebo effect. My thinking is that if I do it from time to time, I can let my body get use to the feeling of a sleep schedule without create dependency on external melatonin dosis or CBD.

I've been building a Markdown variant called Zd that's focused on extensibility and simplicity. Yeah, 100%. That is completely something I am punting on currently. It would be easy to just copy over the solution from (extensions to) Markdown, but it's hard to entirely narrow in on both what tables ought to do and how to make them do it.
If you had a magic wand, what would you have them be more like?
I really like this minimal approach, I wish the maintainer great success with textlog.
whatever that may look like to them :)
I will make sure to check in occasionally.

Homework? I thought you said housework. I spent all night vacuuming.
