It was only yesterday that I clicked on a Translate button to read a Japanese post. Today I see a Chinese post with English translation right below. Beautiful stuff.

moved to berlin for my bachelors and it took some time to find footing. Im not the best student but I ended up getting lucky to snag a student assistant position by applying/presenting at a summer school (targeted more toward master/phd). then that became my thesis and it dragged quite a long time, bureacracy and supervision and such. But the results were interesting and i learned a ton along the way. Im really happy I yolo applied to that program

Opened up signups and postedLinkedInMain · A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. | Evan MeagherI'm excited to share something I'm working on with Eric Noggle: https://getonmain.com For most people, a home is the most valuable asset that they own. And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. And the effort you *do* put into your about Maingetonmain.comMain · A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running.A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. on LinkedIn yesterday. code quality is about coupling. coupling is not a technical property of the code bytes. code acquires its meaning in contact with the cultural environment, and coupling is about meaning. two constants with no semantic relationship are nonetheless coupled in pragmatics if they refer to the same domain concept. if your goal is to minimise the time integral of future work, you must understand your domain: it decides which lines will need changing. to carve up a codebase is to carve up the world.
a szerveren lévő cookie adatokat és egyéb nyomkövető sz@rokat is a Google kezeli, én nem igazán szoktam ezekből látni semmit, se ip-t, se semmit, a Google inkább keresőmotor, mint mesterséges intelligencia alkalmazás, de ma már hibrid technológiával dolgozik minden MI és kereső
Google also manages the cookie data and other tracking s@rs on the server, I don't really see anything from these, no IP, nothing, Google is more of a search engine than an artificial intelligence application, but today all AI and search engines work with hybrid technology

This resonated a lot. I’m glad I read it now, before going totally insane lol. But I disagree that it’s just a glorified spreadsheet. The UI/UX matters, how you present the data, how they can change and so on, all of those things play a role. The good thing with AI is iteration is cheaper than ever, so you can experiment and process the results quickly. But yeah sometimes I just do things here because I just have to be doing something, I can’t leave it alone.
Agreed. The "just" makes the statement sound dismissive, but I do agree with the underlying sentiment that most software boils down to CRUD apps that help people organize information and complete tasks more efficiently. I think the path to developer enlightenment is realizing this truth without despairing over it.

Short URLs are good. Memorable URLs are good. URLs spat out by URL shorteners are something entirely different.
The longer the text you need to store, the bigger a QR code needs to be in order to scan reliably. Also, you might be more confident in being able to keep a short URL stable (it's already a step of indirection, so if you want to reorg your site you can just update where the short URL points to). But people don't really take care to maintain short URLs anyway, apparently.
