So technically I wouldn't call the main terminal a data center, but more of an interrogation room for MI agents. I'm currently stuck installing Windows 11, and I'd like to download some books and scripts just to be safe before I start building the interrogation room. Catastrophic interference is also a favorite Wikipedia page and concept. The thing is, it doesnโt only happen to artificial neural networks, Iโve had it happen to me a few times. Especially with pin numbers, newer pins overwriting old ones and Iโm always scared when Iโm having hard time remembering something that this catastrophic interference applied and now the information is gone from my brain.

i dont think its all talk, these are smart people that have been in ai since the 2000s, and they raise good points. current incentive structures are very dangerous long term
they too have every incentive to exaggerate because they are selling safety and/or books on the topic. I donโt believe we wonโt see it coming. Any issues that will manifest will be very visible and weโll have plenty of time to mitigate their impact.
they could be making a lot more money by just working at ai firms i fear. the thing that got me worried the hacking incidents lately, huggingface etc.
if the capabilities consistently outspeed the development of safety measures, and if the private arms race logic continues, i dont think this is a good spot to be in long term

and the little laptop doesn't have enough memory, so I originally bought this main terminal for programming, I don't know what I wanted to program with it anymore, but it hums like a data center, and if I upgrade it a little, the Gemma 4 LLM will be able to run on it screaming
I gotta confess, I vibe codet a Kirigami-based application and I liked it. I am a anti AI person, and cannot wait for the bubble to burst. Yet I see it can empower people that do not know a tech stack, and get good enough results out of it. However i also see, it makes you lazy (and frustrates as soon as it gets somewhat complicated). It seems it is being adopted everywhere. This is scary... if it becomes necessary, will you be able to find a job where they don't require you to use AI?
