code quality is about coupling. coupling is not a technical property of the code bytes. code acquires its meaning in contact with the cultural environment, and coupling is about meaning. two constants with no semantic relationship are nonetheless coupled in pragmatics if they refer to the same domain concept. if your goal is to minimise the time integral of future work, you must understand your domain: it decides which lines will need changing. to carve up a codebase is to carve up the world.

I surprised my self this morning. I was looking for some content on YouTube with Mario (pi) and saw something that was 2 months old. First reaction was โ€œthat is too old.โ€ I used to take my time, slow it down and have time for thoughts. Is this whatโ€™s happen to you when consume too much?

yes. everything goes so fast nowadays that we don't stop to appreciate stuff that happened the last month, two months, a year, 5 years ago.

did they silently decrease the subscription limits on codex? (in addition to reintroducing the 5h limit?) subscription models suck so bad when they can just change the terms and make the product shittier.

Going to document some approaches to produce data visualizations using ari via DuckDB. Donโ€™t know why it didnโ€™t occur to me earlier, that there would be some solid community extensions for #dataviznotesfollow in DuckDB.

I was trying to use an approach that relies on community extensions, but installing them is proving finicky. Going to consider an approach that requires less futzing.

Images are fine for me, but should be behind a link, or a small thumbnail. Non-animated. Videos too. But thatโ€™s me. They will most likely have to be hosted elsewhere, while the thumb could be here. Nah. We are ok with just text.

Yeah, before you know it the feed becomes a collection of memes. Have to click or perhaps a browser extension that you personally see the opengraph/linked image in the feed but it's not inviting people to post them for the feed itself.

I hate it when I donโ€™t remember if I took my midday pill or not. Not that it matters a lot, but still, annoying. I have notifications set up but I discard them by habit because they are exact times and my sleep pattern fluctuates.

Regarding the entire history of the internet, I can say I've been largely an observer. I've always consumed content, but I haven't produced any. There's no trace of me on the internet, which is an unforeseen consequence due to China's identity and content policies.
