I see Windows 8-level nonsense (well, Windows 8.1), for me the more complicated interface is a challenge, if the software itself works well, but the beginning is not going too well, I came up with a new philosophical slogan for Windows, which is also a Hungarian saying: "This is it, you have to love it."

And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. Putting a slide deck together (outside of work), despite agreeing with Tufte on this matter. I’ll also create a handout that tells the story better than the slides and deliver that, too, but was asked to produce a slide deck, and I think that’s part of the “effort theater.” Using #latexnotesfollow Beamer for the slides, but not a theme that looks like Beamer because humans have eyes.

Currently it provides a single read-only tool that lets agents fetch all the data in Main about the user's home (details about the home itself, systems/appliances, documents, any repairs they've logged). I think it could get interesting once we provide additional tools for logging repairs, upgrades, and more into the home's memory.

Don’t be beholden to one LLM basket. Get yourself an Openrouter account, get yourself an open source harness like pi and get yourself educated. I will die on this hill.

I agree with this. I already use different models for different tasks in part for this reason. Never bothered with an OpenRouter account though, I just have accounts set with each provider. And Pi is excellent. I actually find it much better than Claude Code.

It seems this year is when big budget LLM players overtake independent academic mathematicians, in speed at least. The Jacobian conjecture, a lot of Erdos problems, now even the Navier Stokes millenium problem. Solved due to new model releases, all within this summer.

in math it can definitely prove statements that havent been proven before. I dont think thats the big thing though since it also writes sentences nobody has ever written before and in software it can write programs that havent been written before. Its just that the speed and scalability that has overtaken human mathematicians and programmers

Since it's implemented in Go, it's straightforward to extend with anything from Go's standard library (or third-party ecosystem) that isn't already incorporated. If you haven't used an array language before, then you get the added bonus of learning a ton about an interesting, powerful area of programming.

It does not, but fakes it well, since it is fast and compares built binary with script mtime to automatically recompile. The downside of using it is that you end up with a binary, but the upside is that it is blazing fast.

I'm still getting used to the idea that because of Gemma 4, I'll have Windows 11 on my computer first (and that there will be a presso in Szentmihály), so it's hard to get started.

The job market feels like it's been run over by a truck. What's the play here? Anything automated/streamlined (job platforms, LinkedIn, etc.) feels like a dead end. Messaging people, networking and so on seems like the only reasonable way, and that's a hustle all on its own.
