We did a poll &2326, the majority wanted something “limited” which is what we did, and the “no” crowd was also really big, while the “yes” crowd were the fewest. Still not to be ignored, which is why the posts dates are detailed (relative age & m/y) on hover after they age a couple of days iirc. So you get context when you need to, but not noise when you don’t.

The thing is, there is more noise now than it was when timestamps were around: polls, &s, hide text/blurs, details/summaries. I may be missing some. So, while aiming for less noise, more have truly been introduced.

This is exactly what I think we wanted, right? Engagement should have a core need to be born and not solely because someone said something 5 min ago, but because they said it. Not when. At least for me - this is entirely more valuable. … but I may be missing the point. Haha
