Off to handstand class. I have been known to recommend to everyone within earshot doing challenging and/or silly physical things in a community. Not bucking the trend here.

Switched from gpg to age, because pinentry sucks. With age I set both of my Macโs security enclaves + software private key (stored in Passwords.app) + yubikey for hardware backup. Looks good.

What do you think about making the โto meโ similar to โfor youโ, โlatestโ, and โhotโ, when it comes to font size, and the underline effect?
This guide has really worked out for me after trying so many different methods - berbarianwizard.substack.com/โฆ/beyond-calories-fat-loss-guide
Tried some after a long time again today. Couldnโt hold my thoughts for 15 seconds. I used to be able to and blank my mind for 5 to 10 minutes. Need to practice again, I remember how beneficial it was to my when I did it in the past.

creator of textlog:I've heard it said that every moment you realize your mind has been wandering is a moment of clarity. So uhhh.... a moment of clarity every 15 seconds sounds pretty good

Personally, I think I found good framework/vocabulary to help with meditation in some discussion by Jiddu Krishnamurti. Here is one in which he works it out with kids
There was a short, to the point lecture where he basically walks you through observing thought, which profoundly changed how I approach meditation but I can't find it for the life of me!
I'm in a similar spot. I haven't maintained a regular practice since I had kids.
I can observe the absence of the benefits I got from my practice, too. I'm more reactive and less focused in general. I think that my practice gave me the tools I need to stay present with my daughters, though, so I'm grateful for having retained that.

Regarding the entire history of the internet, I can say I've been largely an observer. I've always consumed content, but I haven't produced any. There's no trace of me on the internet, which is an unforeseen consequence due to China's identity and content policies.

I don't quite understand how China's "Great Firewall" works. For example, how exactly did you access this website?
(I'm communicating with you through translation software.)

Hmm, its a ticking time bomb then.... what do you need to say and need help with?
If anyone can give me a ProtonMail or Tutanota email account, I would be extremely grateful. I have no way to receive verification codes.
You can send it to the temporary email: sl5n215ahf@lnovic.com, thanks
I've received it. Unfortunately, I'm in China and can't access ProtonMail, but I still want to say thank you very much.
Had a little help from Claude to fix a bug in my NNW themes - to embed youtube videos directly in the theme. meaning NNW can now be my video player of choice from YT's RSS feeds directly.

Overvalued, maybe. Extremely valuable, yes, though.
For sure. We're well past the point of being able to reasonably claim that the tools have no practical use.
But I share the article's skepticism that LLM-based AI will "produce a fully automated drop-in replacement for most knowledge workers". Which it at this point has to in order to justify these companies' stupendous valuations.
Tomorrow no but there will always be the โhopeโ which is enough for the next 20 years before giving up. Which meanwhile would be replacing larger and larger chunks of the workforce so it wonโt really matter, weโll be adjusting our lives around it as well so we meet in the middle.
Tesla has been overvalued for over a decade with the promise of โfully autonomous carsโ and itโs still not losing its value, despite not meeting that (and probably never will, as the computation necessary to achieve it is bounded by physics).
Today visiting Zaragoza with an aunt and my mom, I hope to be this willing and capable of moving around for leisure when I'm in my 60s too
