not marketing. yes their jobs positively select for concern about ai, but most people that are actively researching the field are concerned about the current state of safety, pace and incentives. Catastrophic interference is also a favorite Wikipedia page and concept. The thing is, it doesnโ€™t only happen to artificial neural networks, Iโ€™ve had it happen to me a few times. Especially with pin numbers, newer pins overwriting old ones and Iโ€™m always scared when Iโ€™m having hard time remembering something that this catastrophic interference applied and now the information is gone from my brain.
