Maybe implementing a subset of Markdown would be a good thing. I am thinking about bold, italics, inline code, and code block, mostly. Oh, and links.

I think so. It could even be made a setting, defaulting it to off. I think it would be useful, especially is self-hosted for a tech community.

I agree that minimalism is hard. Thatโ€™s why the subset was explicitly recommended small. Yet, I believe it is extremely useful to have.

I've tested MD and honestly I don't like it. Bold/italics add unnecessary noise/clutter and the font is already monospace, suited for code, so inline code & code fences are not needed. If 3rd party clients want to implement them it's fine but I'm sensitive to visual noise.

And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. been building a voice first os using jev and some small voice models. I'm surprised how well it's working and I'm very close to the point where I can go into a feedback mode and tell it what behavior I want changed, it will spin up Claude or codex inside itself and setup the build to restart itself and continue with new code. tempted to let it build itself completely

There are days when I wonder if I shouldn't write in Catalan here, so that there is more visible linguistic diversity. After all, translations are cheap these days. Machine translation can help preserve the world's linguistic diversity.
