I truly love the experience of using apps with rich, deeply interactive, beautifully animated, gorgeous user interfaces.
Then I see a beautiful text-based interface and something about it feels so natural, so inevitable, so perfectly clear, and I'm instantly captivated by its simplicity and clarity.
Hypertext is fascinating.

Regarding the entire history of the internet, I can say I've been largely an observer. I've always consumed content, but I haven't produced any. There's no trace of me on the internet, which is an unforeseen consequence due to China's identity and content policies.
I've linked up my blog (jeff-mitchell.dev) to
textlog. I hope to use the two things together now to build a bit more of a writing habit. The 500 character increase is nice, room to breath but not an essay. Iโve been inspired to cook more Japanese food lately so for dinner I made salmon teriyaki, miso soup, rice, and pickles.
Putting a slide deck together (outside of work), despite agreeing with Tufte on this matter. Iโll also create a handout that tells the story better than the slides and deliver that, too, but was asked to produce a slide deck, and I think thatโs part of the โeffort theater.โ
Using Beamer for the slides, but not a theme that looks like Beamer because humans have eyes.
