Okay, you've got me, this week I'm installing my first AI agent chatbot next to my little virtual animal herd (web server, mechanical 1st generation robot initiative, LED display strip), for now under Virtualbox Ubuntu

Damn, that actually sounds like a genuinely nice experience. I'd recommend books, and a battery pack or two (not sure if there's electricity available), a blanket (unless you got a sleeping cabin) and comfortable clothes.

I empathize, we've had that happen within the last year too, even the same bathroom-over-kitchen floor plan. And the extra test of patience: the kiddos don't have the skills to properly clean and sanitize that kind of mess.

i think theyre pretty cool. the tech market is too safe nowadays.
Totally, I'm glad they're at least trying something new (for Apple). It just underscores the general failure of imagination vibes I get from everything in tech nowadays. Most of the industry is breathlessly chasing a 20th century "golden age of scifi" vision of AI. And Apple's over there diligently trying to improve upon other companies' products from five years ago. At least no one's talking about the metaverse anymore.

And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. It's one of the sad ironies of this computer stuff that the simpler solutions take longer to conceive than the complicated ones.
