I was followed by @semperosprofilefollowPresbyter, husband, father, technologist, linguist, musician. here and wonder if this the one of ari fame? If so, I’m thankful for their work. Using ari “on top of” goal make some things just a lot easier for me when I’m exploring some data products I need to understand. #programmingnotesfollow

Hi, yes, I develop ari. I'm so glad it's proven useful for you! Any feature requests or changes you'd like to see? I'm curious what bits of ari have made it easier for you to explore data, too.
UI or #dataviznotesfollow additions keep tempting me, but I haven't settled on what I want there. If you have thoughts on that front, I welcome them.

The two main things I use are the duckdb support and of course the built-in resty client. Not needing to shell out to curl just makes life easier. I should probably add that I’m mainly prototyping and explore things that later eventually will be developed further by others in our organization, so using array langs where I don’t need to type a lot is a big plus for me:) I’ll let you know if I need anything!

Thanks, that’s helpful. Those are the two things I use the most, too.
One development tool I use frequently is the util.ac function (for “auto-complete”) that takes a glob pattern and returns all the globals whose names match.
I didn’t want to make people have to define or update their Goal lib path, so in recent versions of ari I’ve been packaging all of the Goal libs and ari's into a libs FS that you can use with import.

Installed Hermes Desktop and starting to build out my team of bots. My experience with Hermes so far has been great: it keeps surprising me by being what i need it to be ... but I'll reserve a final judgement until after a proper period of use.
I never noticed the little halfsteps in the bassline of the verses of Rebel Yell before. It's so slinky and subconscious and makes the chorus that much more.
one more step. just a moment. attention required! enable javascript and cookies to continue. verifying the security of your connection. your browsing activity has been paused. content unavailable in your region. 429 too many requests. 403 forbidden. connection has timed out.
The future is here. But instead of flying cars or holodeck, what you get is tracking cookies and captcha everywhere.
Maybe someday you will need to have your rectum scanned by Google or Meta nee Facebook before your browser does a HTTP request.
This is like the third time in my life I've seen an interrobang in the wild.
And I don't know, but I'd prefer JSON over having configuration as constants in a PHP script like at $DAYJOB sob
My problem with yaml is the indentation annoyance it leads to, and if you are using the same tool on two different machine like windows and linux, have fun configuring those tabs and spaces all the time. I do like toml and ini for editing, but json is not as bad as yaml for sure
My reply didn’t carry literal meaning. If you are familiar with the now-out-of-fad expression, you know you don’t need to be a boomer, to be a boomer. :-D

I have created a small tool, codeatlas, that basically generates an index to codebase that your llm can lookup syper quick, github.com/Aeres-u99
there is also a cbz->pdf converter that I wrote for eink devices which is nice
I HEARD A GREAT HORNED OWL. one of my birding goals is to see any owl outside a zoo. I just moved here and the lack of birds near our home has made me sad. but hearing this owl was such a fun surprise tonight.
That’s awesome.
There’s an owl (don’t know type) that hangs out at the playground in our neighborhood at night. First time I saw it, I stood frozen in place, amazed that it would be out in the open.
Then as I walked away, I kept looking behind me, realizing I’d never hear it coming if it decided to engage 🦉
Merlin Bird ID is magical. Put it in your pocket for the next encounter.
If anything, you'll have your phone out ready to throw like a stone in the event you have to roll a die to evade and attack.
You look in the corner, you see a guy quietly eating cigarette butts. It's ok. He's dealing with a lot of stress from work. He takes care of his family. Capitalism
Likewise... you look in the corner, you see a guy quietly eating cigarette butts. It's ok. He's dealing with a lot of stress for lack of work, or food, or future. He wants to take care of his family. Communism.
We haven’t figured out yet. Maybe we never will.
