How do you define #AInotesfollow slop in relation to #codingnotesfollow? For me, it is how quickly you get to an unmaintainable state- the acceleration into something that becomes difficult to work. I talk more about it here: hellodavid.dev/blog/slop #Softwarenotesfollow #Developmentnotesfollow
Not that I think we're close to a canonical definition (as if we'll ever all agree on one) but my team has defacto adopted the definition of code that the developer responsible for it doesn't understand, approve of and essentially has now honestly reviewed. Basically anything which leads to cognitive debt.
I agree, I don't think that there will ever be one canonical definition, but I like this definition as well, as it places the onus on the actual person creating the slop. Thank you for sharing!

And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. And the effort you *do* put into your about Maingetonmain.comMain ยท A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running.A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. on LinkedIn yesterday. Any #Pinotesfollow users around? I have been customizing it to the way I work, as it is meant to be. Bent it in a way that I enjoy holding it, so to say. Maybe someone will find those useful, so I took the time to get it published. Gruntfooot is a footer customization, where you can try new colors/glyphs in real time and also has theme support.

Piflux is a coding workflow. You can steer software development by running commands that issue reasonably general prompts. /plan, /code, /review I created this because I find it very useful to have different models/ perform each of those tasks in isolated sessions. Managing this manually was very much a hassle.

Maybe implementing a subset of Markdown would be a good thing. I am thinking about bold, italics, inline code, and code block, mostly. Oh, and links.

I think so. It could even be made a setting, defaulting it to off. I think it would be useful, especially is self-hosted for a tech community.

I agree that minimalism is hard. Thatโ€™s why the subset was explicitly recommended small. Yet, I believe it is extremely useful to have.

I've tested MD and honestly I don't like it. Bold/italics add unnecessary noise/clutter and the font is already monospace, suited for code, so inline code & code fences are not needed. If 3rd party clients want to implement them it's fine but I'm sensitive to visual noise.
