Zik is my pet project - a photos manager that is as fast as possible and as small as possible. It leaves sparks as it goes (lol jk)

i like things being as fast as possible. link?
Unfortunately no. Just starting it. Got the proof of concept loading a dir with its sub-dirs then rendering on the GPU in textures silky smooth. 1.7mb executable, but will need to level up to SDL and that will double the size I think.

Perhaps sorting (unread at the top) when there unread messages is a good idea @stagasprofilefollow

Not a lot of content yet, it's a work in progress :)
A thing I've been doing lately is trying to come to the same conclusions others have without looking their the direct techniques and code. Last night I tried to figure out why people do vector based retrieval for RAG and ended up running these experiments: n0tls.com/…/2026-09-03-i-think-…rag-with-grep.html
I'm still going to do an explore agent.
Having a little difficulty seeing how long this service will exist. People are terrible. Sooner or later it will be found and ruined.

really? (⊙_◎) I just saw it before and felt like it described me sometimes (• ▽ •;) what game is he from!??!
or show, or any other media,,
That's so funny, I've never seen anyone get into it by this quote alone, he's the antagonist of the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
The quote is even better when you hear it in context, but don't spoil the experience, you ought to play the game and hear it for yourself.
What do you normally play?
One idea that I've been thinking about is an or where it is a app so you get a new file everyday right except the app keeps track of all the files for you. the idea is that anytime you type anything it it basically makes a commit and use so anytime you type something it commits automatically after a quick pause after you stop typing.
That sounds ! Could also create summary titles with for the filenames in addition to their date so you can find what you were writing about easily. Also full text search.
