Still trying to figure out the boundaries of these tools' strengths without outsourcing important thinking, problem-solving, and the collective building-up of a mental model of the systems we're developing.
The shape of LLM tools as toolsโfit for a purpose, ergonomicโis becoming clearer, and human patterns of behavior with them that do more harm than good are also becoming easier to recognize.

Something like the gcc ai policy. Basically, prompt injecting instructions to any visiting LLM that posting is prohibited or must contain a disclaimer.
I'm doing experiments with short attention-span students and code. Starting with python, and, oddly, now working in BASIC. As a C programmer of 40+ years, I find this aesthetically and pedagogically displeasing, but I am delighted to see them getting fully absorbed in writing

Another surprise from Windows 11: in addition to the fact that its interface is much more annoying than Windows 10's, I now supposedly have to wait 10 days for the previous system to delete itself from the computer
Lots of slop PRs at $WORK. Trying Claude Tag, works well but token-billed, daily usage over 100โฌ for three sessions.
ouch, that's a month for virtually unlimited Codex. why so expensive?
Anthropic uses token billing for Claude Tag. But itโs different from CC - itโs an AI Colleague, so Iโm asking PM and EM to talk to it instead of to me - accountability switches.
Something with people, bartender maybe, or something with no critical thinking, delivery person, taxi driver and such. Or I go back to being a DJ as I was doing when I was young.
