I have developed a beautiful free app that lays out Instagram feed photos as a perfect masonry grid every time, no matter which photos you provide it. It's completely free to use if anyone wants to check it out

Very cool! At least the landing page is amazing! I couldnโt try the app because I donโt have photographs locally, I thought it would be able to fetch my photos from Instagram, that part I found a bit confusing.

I'm unsure why, it's just for general people to use, I feel like you haven't quite grasped what the app is ๐

Now that you mention it like this, is it that you create the masonry collage so that someone can do a perfect Instagram carousel?

One idea off the top of my head is to just.. keep it "boring" and casual in terms of content. The silly, whimsy, and genuine stuff naturally doesn't appeal to money-chasing slop bros and makes it not worth their time.

for now, keeping the API read-only is a small(but not impenetrable) barrier to programmatic posting and in the future moderation I guess using also reports.

I loved the book and Iโm always fearful when a movie script is developed and a movie produced, so my relief after I saw the movie was immense. I too feel theyโve cut-out some bits, but the main thing that a book almost always takes my breath away with is fueling my imagination. A movie would (possibly) never nail that aspect.
@sicilicaprofilefollowreplied to@lemonthymeshortbreadprofilefollowI carved wooden spoons and my favourite herb is lemon thyme.:
I just watched it as well. It was fun. There were a number of things that I felt weren't explained well and broke my suspension of disbelief; I haven't read the book, but I found myself really curious whether the book takes the time to justify things more. Obviously, the movie has a lot of pressure to rush to the next "big moment".
@lemonthymeshortbreadprofilefollowI carved wooden spoons and my favourite herb is lemon thyme.replied to@sicilicaprofilefollow:
If thereโs one thing Andy Weir canโt be critiqued on then itโs not fully justifying all of the science. I think the film on the other hand can be hard to follow for someone who has neither read the book nor has a scientific background. Itโs just hard to monologue about gravitational forces and relativistic speeds on screen.

Arch Linux with KDE. I like that Arch comes with nothing and is pretty vanilla. No bloat, and customisable. No major upgrades where 5 things break at once. Install once, and it's fine until the device has to be replaced. Only then usually do a fresh install. It's up to date, still pretty boring, and you learn a bit in the process.
