I've avoided social media (except YouTube) all my life, but this looks like it could finally be a better way to do it. Maybe I'll keep a running journal of cool things I'm working on here or weird bugs that I've found. Or just the struggles of coding. Bluey's "curry swapYahoo LifeThe 'Bluey'-inspired trick for twice the homemade meals with half the workFind a like-minded family to start your own weekday "curry swap" to share home-cooked meals." is an ingenious way to save #timenotesfollow #cookingnotesfollow. The scheme is simple: One night a week, we make twice as much #dinnernotesfollow and drop it off at the other family's house. They do the same on a different night. The #lifehacknotesfollow is deceivingly simple. Doubling a recipe is easier than preparing a second dish.
Applied to an L5 software engineering role via e-mail and without any other contact I received back a bunch of questions that clearly look like they're aimed at L6 or even L7. Not sure what to do with that so I withdrew. Briefly considered answering them but was weirded out.

Short URLs are good. Memorable URLs are good. URLs spat out by URL shorteners are something entirely different.
The longer the text you need to store, the bigger a QR code needs to be in order to scan reliably. Also, you might be more confident in being able to keep a short URL stable (it's already a step of indirection, so if you want to reorg your site you can just update where the short URL points to). But people don't really take care to maintain short URLs anyway, apparently.

It seems this year is when big budget LLM players overtake independent academic mathematicians, in speed at least. The Jacobian conjecture, a lot of Erdos problems, now even the Navier Stokes millenium problem. Solved due to new model releases, all within this summer.

in math it can definitely prove statements that havent been proven before. I dont think thats the big thing though since it also writes sentences nobody has ever written before and in software it can write programs that havent been written before. Its just that the speed and scalability that has overtaken human mathematicians and programmers

Yeah it's happening to people. It's because the email contains a link and we don't have the reputation yet. Not sure what to do, have you tried reporting it as 'Not spam' in your client? Maybe if enough people do that it will fix. Gmail works ok.

Under the overarching influence of a single, powerful force, China's open-source models filter out a large amount of content unfavorable to their designs during the pre-training stage, and then incorporate a significant amount of content defending their designs into the data constructed during the SFT stage. A corrective dataset is urgently needed for fine-tuning.
