i keep open all day - the 3d pauses when the tab is out of focus, so i just get a ton of music i like without wasting cpu/gpu, and occassionally switch to the tab and play a little or chat if anyone's there.

Cold brew in the fridge for 24 hours. Gets a very smooth product.

Brikka. Someone on HN mentioned it as great design. I looked it up and bought it after a while. It's been such a delight. Even the occasional brew gone wrong adds to the experience. v60 is also nice when I need it to slow down or be the experience a bit meditative. But Chinese tea is the best for that.

AeroPress, though my deafault is an Americano from our espresso machine. Unfortunately, we lose the nuances from each bean.

In other news, I'm circling what sure looks like GCP overbilling us by over $1M/year going back as far as I can see.

The pendulum has swung far in the direction of favouring machine generated content over that from actual people. I wonder when it will swing back?

What pendulum? The algorithms’? I don’t think any human is happy about their feeds filling with slop.

A thing I've been doing lately is trying to come to the same conclusions others have without looking their the direct techniques and code. My favorite part of classic reddit was the use of elaborate hacks to circumvent the restrictions on custom subreddit CSS. E.g. animated gifs weren't allowed, so people made filmstrip sprites with stepwise animation in such a way as to look exactly the same.

I love the "feel" of this place. It's minimal, but not too minimal. Nice work! I'm probably gonna be a little chatty on here. If anyone minds that, then just @ me :-)

It's cute because you have to put it in a sandbox right away (Virtualbox is a sandbox) so it doesn't mess up everything on the machine or the server or anywhere else, but these AI chatbots are basically peaceful little animals, right?
