Built a couple lambdas today to send account verification and onboarding drip emails for folks who sign up for my app but don’t make it all the way through the onboarding flow. Pretty cool to be able to quickly bang out self-contained infra for this instead of having to pay some SaaS vendor.

Big list of events you've attended! Definitely dump more photos when you find the time. I'm more of a casual Nu-Metal enjoyer myself, but I can also appreciate some of the classics.

It's taken me 5 years to get a photo storage engine off the ground. I've got it now, so I now have to go back through time and get the photos up. AC/DC next Thursday!

And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. And the effort you *do* put into your about Maingetonmain.comMain · A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running.A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. on LinkedIn yesterday. I reported one post for spam twice today - there was no indication on re-viewing the post that I had already reported it. I think that some sort of indicator of posts I have already reported would be good. Or, if it's simpler, just don't show them to me in the feeds after reporting. Thanks.

#AInotesfollow brings so many issues. It really accelerates. Not only the good parts but also the bad parts. Combine this with a product person that doesn't even know what a refinement is. I'm 41, maybe I'll study to pivot, maybe I'll get into trading. I can't handle it anymore.

Architect/lead have a pre-refinement with product to clear 80% of the obvious questions. We share an agenda, devs can ask questions async. In the refinement product presents, we design a solution draft. 15 minutes/item. This doesn't work if product is incompetent and everything is AI-slopped.

It seems this year is when big budget LLM players overtake independent academic mathematicians, in speed at least. The Jacobian conjecture, a lot of Erdos problems, now even the Navier Stokes millenium problem. Solved due to new model releases, all within this summer.

in math it can definitely prove statements that havent been proven before. I dont think thats the big thing though since it also writes sentences nobody has ever written before and in software it can write programs that havent been written before. Its just that the speed and scalability that has overtaken human mathematicians and programmers

The correct and standard #Urdunotesfollow correction of your given #sentencenotesfollow is "I have brought a #giftnotesfollow, I am crazy for you". In this sentence, the correct word for 'najraja' is 'nazran' (gift), 'lekar' is written separately, and 'lay' is spelled correctly. #Grammarnotesfollow #Urdunotesfollow #Languagenotesfollow #Learningnotesfollow

Anthropic is announcing the end of the world every few days. All this marketing disguised as news about an impeding danger of AI is tiresome.

not marketing. yes their jobs positively select for concern about ai, but most people that are actively researching the field are concerned about the current state of safety, pace and incentives. I dont agree with a lot anthropic does, but i do believe the employees take safety seriously and they obviously have a better understanding of it than us. also theres no incentive for someone like coxon to sound alarm bells on twitter for "marketing" reasons, after quitting anthropic
😎profilefollowreplied toprofilefollowresearcher, developer, dancer:
Yes, but some people say that they are pushing for market regulation. They want the state to protect them from the chinese models and, also, to protect the massive investments in Anthropic, OpenaAI, et al. that these companies will never be able to return. This sounds plausible to me too.
