So we can't use em dash anymore โ€” lest we anger the mob. Truth be told though, English teachers have always discouraged em dash overuse because it is a subtle art and very easy to get wrong.

The funny thing is that in the UK, we don't really use the em dash anyway. We use the hyphen (I guess en dash?) with a space each side. So the em dash has always looked a bit odd to us... ๐Ÿ˜Š

There are dashes (-), as well as en dashes (โ€“), and there are em dashes (โ€”), not to miss the mighty center dot (โ€ข) that looks like a perky boob when surrounded by brackets haha

Just get and read Chicago Manual of Style, or Oxford Style Manual if you so prefer, and youโ€™re all set to use the various dashโ€™es (and many other things).

Thereโ€™s other dashes to pick if you want to steer clear of the almighty em dash!

The anti-slop mob is tiresome. With a careful and appropiate use of ai it is possible to make a lot of interesting stuff. And I hate even more when the mob "profs" that the text is ai using those ai detectros that can't detect ai.

Many leaders acquire authority through ambition and manipulation. Iโ€™m not referring to them. Catastrophic interference is also a favorite Wikipedia page and concept. The thing is, it doesnโ€™t only happen to artificial neural networks, Iโ€™ve had it happen to me a few times. Especially with pin numbers, newer pins overwriting old ones and Iโ€™m always scared when Iโ€™m having hard time remembering something that this catastrophic interference applied and now the information is gone from my brain.
been building a voice first os using jev and some small voice models. I'm surprised how well it's working and I'm very close to the point where I can go into a feedback mode and tell it what behavior I want changed, it will spin up Claude or codex inside itself and setup the build to restart itself and continue with new code. tempted to let it build itself completely

Yeah it's happening to people. It's because the email contains a link and we don't have the reputation yet. Not sure what to do, have you tried reporting it as 'Not spam' in your client? Maybe if enough people do that it will fix. Gmail works ok.

Yup, I am moving them out of it. It might take a while, but eventually should be OK. All good, hopefully now with a password I will not have much use for them any more.

Choice is definitely a problem. We notice it when we go to our cabin, about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. The grocery store there targets #foodnotesfollow for its local community. It is beef-centric and often boxed foods -- which is not our diet. Access -- or lack thereof -- is the worst kind of problem. A lot of people write so much software to sandbox their AI agents. I say don't bother. Just give your agent its own non-admin local user account. It's easier and much more effective.

When I read about #autismnotesfollow in reputable #booksnotesfollow, I relate to almost everything that is described (keeping in mind that no two autistic people are alike). I suspectโ€”and this is the interesting partโ€”that there are significant cultural differences in this regard. In fact, the reputable Spanish books on autism that I have read don't address this topic (if I remember correctly).

Definitely people here do intense full locked eye contact, which I canโ€™t do, unless Iโ€™m attracted to the person as I said. Even then Iโ€™ll move a bit around the face because itโ€™s uncomfortable even then. But others just lock in completely I see them doing it.
OK. I guess that Greece may be similar to Spain. I feel comfortable hanging with greeks, in Greece and elswhere. Then, if I don't look at the eyes, but others do. I guess that I'm very good at masking that I don't look at the eyes. I never got a comment related to eye contact.
I donโ€™t think itโ€™s something people notice immediately and consciously think this is wrong to make a comment, they will probably just not feel the same connection or feel something is off about you in general or think that youโ€™re busy thinking other things. Itโ€™s not the only case to not make eye contact with someone, you might just not like them. Thatโ€™s probably what they will sense.
