Visiting, for the first time. It's about a 9 hour drive from home so we've never made the trip, but so worth it. Went to Ile d'Orleans yesterday, just... so quiet and beautiful. Seems a bit of a paradise, haven't even made it up to the natl park(s) yet. My French is coming back a little each day, made it all the way through the coffee order just now :)

TOML is a better format for configuration files IMO, if not for many reasons, primarily because TOML accepts comments. However, one annoying thing for TOML was the lack of schema, and the reliance on JSON Schema for that. Which I decided to tackle years ago when I started the TOML Schema project. In the past few months I leveraged code agents to take to the finish line and got something compelling: tomlschema.org

Exactly! The schema also enables tools to have rich editors to config files without having to know about the config file format upfront. There is an editor for TOML Schema as an example, on the website.

I've been leaning hard on NixOS in my latest attempt at a linux desktop box and have been really enjoying it. LLMs definitely help as there's a tremendous amount of information you need to use it effectively, I feel. I also started with Hyprland but then moved to Niri and have really enjoyed it.

I spent some time looking into what Omarchy has become since I installed it on my system, and I don’t think I like it anymore. ^^ Using it mainly to open a browser or applications like VS Code… well, I can do that with any OS. Yeah, 100%. That is completely something I am punting on currently. It would be easy to just copy over the solution from (extensions to) Markdown, but it's hard to entirely narrow in on both what tables ought to do and how to make them do it. If you had a magic wand, what would you have them be more like?

Piflux is a coding workflow. You can steer software development by running commands that issue reasonably general prompts. /plan, /code, /review I created this because I find it very useful to have different models/ perform each of those tasks in isolated sessions. Managing this manually was very much a hassle.

Might be a good outcome to this. Water remediation folks want to take out 30 sqft of drywall to ensure the space btwn floors is fully dry. But my architect father-in-law thinks this is yagni and we can get away with just using a fan and space heater to let it dry out on its own 🤔
