TOML is a better format for configuration files IMO, if not for many reasons, primarily because TOML accepts comments. However, one annoying thing for TOML was the lack of schema, and the reliance on JSON Schema for that. Which I decided to tackle years ago when I started the TOML Schema project. Exactly! The schema also enables tools to have rich editors to config files without having to know about the config file format upfront. There is an editor for TOML Schema as an example, on the website.

I loved the book and I’m always fearful when a movie script is developed and a movie produced, so my relief after I saw the movie was immense. I too feel they’ve cut-out some bits, but the main thing that a book almost always takes my breath away with is fueling my imagination. A movie would (possibly) never nail that aspect.

There were a number of things that I felt weren't explained well and broke my suspension of disbelief; I haven't read the book, but I found myself really curious whether the book takes the time to justify things more. Obviously, the movie has a lot of pressure to rush to the next "big moment".

If there’s one thing Andy Weir can’t be critiqued on then it’s not fully justifying all of the science. I think the film on the other hand can be hard to follow for someone who has neither read the book nor has a scientific background. It would require permaban on IPs which would require permalogging of IPs in order to track them, and we are currently obfuscating them before hitting the DB with daily rotating salt so an anonymous user can’t be tracked. So we’d have to give up privacy/security :/

Some specialized censors used in automated manufacturing. It's pretty cool, I look forward to coming into the office almost every day. I've worked for a few f500 companies and took a pay cut to come here. A bunch of people from my college robotics club work here too.

has been such a pleasure. Haven’t tried Odin, but was using for a while, and I just found myself pulled back to C. A minimal sharp tool. Runs anywhere. Can actually write a compiler for it. Short bootstrap chain from hex0. Does anybody care about these things (anymore)?

Support everywhere (in every way) was key to me starting to use C again. It's nice to not have to worry about the language you use being left out somewhere, a non-starter somewhere else and having to mentally translate it to something else (Zig/Odin in a debugger -> C).
