can't see anything wrong, can you help me here? What do you mean individual messages? Each reply is correctly quoting the parent post, so naturally it appears multiple times.

replies are individual messages - https://imgur.com/a/WuJiFuv

can you share a screenshot? The AI can't trace an error that would cause duplicates, so I'm unsure what's happening here.

"for you" now contains the same message multiple times

In the web app or the mobile app?

Yeah, before you know it the feed becomes a collection of memes. Have to click or perhaps a browser extension that you personally see the opengraph/linked image in the feed but it's not inviting people to post them for the feed itself.

Images are fine for me, but should be behind a link, or a small thumbnail. Non-animated. Videos too. But that’s me. They will most likely have to be hosted elsewhere, while the thumb could be here. Nah. We are ok with just text.

today was a good day

My hometown is a popular tourist destination and we no longer can rent apartments on a year-basis. Everything is AirBnB and they only rent them to locals *pretty expensive* and off-season. As a local I can't live in my hometown anymore, so I'm staying in the mountains.

"Sharing economy" once meant something. You'd Uber someone B→C when already driving A→B→C→D; you'd AirBNB your home when vacationing and stay at someone else's home who was doing the same. No driving just for Uber; no houses just for AirBNB. I fear this history will be forgotten.

Agree, it was once like that. But a very long time ago and for very short period of time. Then, capitalism did its tricks.

yeah, I imagined I wasn't the only person that finds all those images and videos that autoplay nauseating.

agree, no images on my screen is soothing

:D

Tiny, but big declutter results! I like ’em!

Tiny more change pushed, check it out!

Yup, that’s much better (the now changes)!

I'll see what I can do. I'd like to avoid icons since we don't have them anywhere else.

I think it works now better.

Tweaking the /hot algorithm. Really want posts like /post/142 i.e genuinely long discussions, stay longer instead of getting burried away by newer posts.

There is little-to-no incentive, even if we grow, to spam/attack the site with irrelevant content in order for us to become defensive like that. That's where I'm placing my bets. In its quiet character.

This website #tlog63 notes17 followersenter to follow is what William Gibson would call an "interstitial zone" - it can afford to be easy and open because it's so obscure. If it starts throwing up Cloudflare captchas we'll know its days are numbered...

Great idea, implemented here! Thanks for the #feature30 notes4 followersenter to follow suggestion.

Big release for the #mobile8 notes4 followersenter to follow flutter #tlog63 notes17 followersenter to follow app. Writes are now native! Frontend post filters, account details, etc. Eager to hear what you guys think to iron out inevitable quirks.

If you use a strong password you can't pass it around when you try to connect another device. If you use weak one you'll get hacked. The email+magic link is the best for security+convenience.

No password?

You can generate a magic link from /account/security if you want to copy manually to your other devices without going through the email, if you used a temporary email to signup this will help. The cookies remains active through a rolling 1 year window.

No, not the first time. Albeit, I prefer a password (or passkey now) for convenience.

You can export your data, and I'm considering federation/replication but it would become an order of magnitude more complicated. A lot of effort maintaining that part instead of improving the actual service. It's something for the future, once the core semantics are in place.

OK. Thanks! I keep an eye on the experiment. But nowadays I prefer playing with federeated tools, as we know that centralized stuff can go the wrong route entrapping you in it.

You might want to update your client now that we have actual write endpoints!

well, /api doesn't have posting endpoints, how to post programmatically then?
