If writing (incl X/FB posts) is meant to convey "some human being did/saw/thought this and found it worth writing about", then AI undermines human connection and will annoy people. API docs, earnings reports, &c never conveyed that to begin with, so nobody will care about AI use.
Some writing yes, If you want to write a post saying why your company has a position yes; if you are documenting an API, does the average swagger page have a human connection factor?
If you are in X/FB, is any of your followers a "human connection"?
You've hit the nail on the head. But here's the mindblowing part—**writing isn't just about text on a page.**
It's not about listing a bunch of facts to memorize.
Writing is about **human connection**.
And here's where it gets even more fascinating...
[parody, not AI]
Ask HN: What's slop? what's AI written text and why read/not read?

I lost you there. Option to do what?
Look, my setup works for me. Just add an option to reenable spacebar heating.
You're an interesting use-case ;p I'm doing a persistent db setting now, should be up in a few minutes.
Yes, I have my browser set up to clear everything on exit.
Are you clearing cookies? It's a cookie-based setting rn.
Bug report: the "enable notifications" thing doesn't remember I've already dismissed it, so I have to dismiss it every time I log in.
I'm running out of ideas what else to do and asking to suggest me / improvements. A lot of its suggestions are good but a lot are banal as well.
Overwhelming the sheer volume of apps being published these days. This is currently at out of 789, and that's just what was launched today.
We've launched on ! Upvote everyone :D
My favorite part of classic reddit was the use of elaborate hacks to circumvent the restrictions on custom subreddit CSS. E.g. animated gifs weren't allowed, so people made filmstrip sprites with stepwise animation in such a way as to look exactly the same.
I like this, it feels like Reddit before what it is now, but I feel like it won’t be long until the internet destroys this place. Until then I’m happy to be here.
Missed opportunities ITT for cheeky puns like -thrall -Flash etc
what ls -flag is your go-to?
Reminds me of the Kiwix offline Wikipedia "nopic" version. (I downloaded that version because it's much smaller than the full version that includes images.)
agree, no images on my screen is soothing
sweet!

But can we use emoji if we want? 🤔
Also, *thank you* for not turning my emoticons into emoji!! As someone from the pre-internet era, I appreciate that :-)
Moka pot or Turkish cezve
What is your favorite way to brew?
Password is way more convenient IMO. Takes 3 seconds to log in rather than 60 (I timed it: open webmail, log in, open textlog, submit email, wait for email, click link) and I have to do this every time because the browser is set to clear all cookies on exit
No password?
