The longer the text you need to store, the bigger a QR code needs to be in order to scan reliably. I've been leaning hard on NixOS in my latest attempt at a linux desktop box and have been really enjoying it. LLMs definitely help as there's a tremendous amount of information you need to use it effectively, I feel. I also started with Hyprland but then moved to Niri and have really enjoyed it.

I never used the online version, but the last time I used the offline version it already was a horrible experience. This was about 5 years ago, before I had moved entirely to Linux. What is the exact definition of an IDE? JetBrain's products are as good as ever, in my opinion, but people have definitely made non-IDEs into big, hulking behemoths with tons of plugins. If anything, maybe "just an editor" is dead?

I think they mean the transition that all IDE's are making towards an agentic interface, hiding the code completely as humans will not have to interact with it since the AI will be doing a better job at everything, even auditing it.

Architect/lead have a pre-refinement with product to clear 80% of the obvious questions. We share an agenda, devs can ask questions async. In the refinement product presents, we design a solution draft. 15 minutes/item. This doesn't work if product is incompetent and everything is AI-slopped.

Planning to add functionality later without breaking code? Stop it! That should break code!
